We got out of bed and dressed just before breakfast at 9 yesterday. We had thought about going earlier, but couldn't handle getting up any earlier, not after the night before. Hit the road around 9:30. T. drove until noon, then we stopped briefly for lunch, coffee, soda, a bathroom break, and to switch drivers. I drove until around 3, when we stopped again for another bathroom and gas.
We got to the kid's friend's house around 5:20. Less than eight hours, significantly faster than Friday... but still 20 minutes after we said we'd be there. Oh well. They didn't seem to mind.
We had pizza for dinner, because of course I'm not cooking after this. We went to bed with T. coughing and hacking almost nonstop, and my throat feels sore as well and my nose congested. Uh oh. We told people all weekend long that it was allergies or the smoke, but I'm starting to fear it is/was contagious. Oh well. Good thing the ceremony was outside; T. probably didn't expose too many people.
