Yesterday morning was busy. I put in 2.5 hours first thing at my job despite the holiday because of how busy it has been lately.

On a personal level it was busy too. The early stages of packing, plus getting the kid to write thank you notes for her birthday presents (we think it should be easy. She objects to writing them, but insists on drawing pictures with them, which makes it take much longer and introduces more chances for errors. Ugh), plus laundry, plus a meeting with a city-sponsored consultant about improvements to the tree box area. They were late and it was a bust anyway because apparently we don't actually own that space, so that was frustrating.

We left for the zoo around 11. Getting there was stressful, because of traffic and construction and the kid being annoying. When we finally got there it was fun. Didn't see the whole thing but saw some new things for us. 

After that, the kid's last guitar lesson (definitely the last one with this teacher/school until after the summer. Maybe the last one for good, who knows?). There was a scheduling mixup but everyone was good sports about it. I left early by bus to get started on dinner. While doing so I turned the air conditioners on for the first time. They felt needed.

Dinner was tilapia with the onion, basil, and wine sauce, and air fryer broccoli, and couscous at the last minute. Sort of fancy for the last real dinner with the MIL here, since we're eating out tomorrow.

I got to bed early. T. got to bed late due to a parents' group meeting - in person, she was invited on the spur of the moment.
