Yesterday I biked the kid to camp. It went better than the day before.

At work I spent most of the day working on the crazy mess I mentioned two days ago. Basically, I took a turn reviewing a 60-page urgent document. It's a deliverable, which means it's unusually important. The tech writer assigned to it was supposed to get it two weeks ago today, work on it for a few days, and take it to another team for review, so it can be absolutely perfect before submitting it to the client at the end of the month. She didn't actually get anything until the Monday or even Tuesday after it was due, and what she got wasn't what she expected at all. The subject matter expert had misunderstood the instructions or something and worked on something completely different. So he and his team lead scrambled to get a rough version of what they were supposed to have ready for us, and the tech writer assigned to it scrambled to review it. I spent yesterday giving it a fresh set of eyes.

Also playing WoW, of course. It was fruitless but easily could have been fruitful if things had gone just a bit better. I was distracted and could have been more helpful with lunch and laundry. Whoops.

After getting the kid, we went out to dinner at Gypsy Kitchen, a place near U St. we had never been to before. T. and I liked it. The kid wouldn't say it was more than OK.

We're getting behind on our TV, because we watched some of the Jan. 6 hearings after the kid was in bed.
