I used a new starting word today. It helped.

Yesterday we took the kid and a friend of hers to the Baltimore Aquarium. It was fun. Her friend had never been there before. We had but several exhibits were new to us. The touch pool was a hit with the girls. They loved playing with jellyfish. Apparently it was a kind that was harmless to humans. And by "playing with" I mean "stroking gently with up to two fingers at a time, on the top of the jelly if possible." Aquarium staff were watching to make sure people weren't hurting the jellies. "Jellies" is the preferred nomenclature because they aren't fish.

The girls behaved well. They got kind of impatient near the end, but on the whole it was fine.

We got home around 5:30. We technically could have cooked but it would have been pretty late and we were tired. So instead we ordered Indian delivery.
