Happy birthday

Yesterday, after posting the previous, we had breakfast in the hotel breakfast nook. Then we went to the beach to enjoy the sun and ~38 degree weather. Then a little shopping in beach tourist trap stores and lunch at a sort of diner. Then swimming in the hotel pool. We were in the water for over an hour, and it was just the three of us. Then shopping, not in the stores walking distance from the beach, but about 2 miles away in the outlet mall. Then dinner at a fancy restaurant we like nearby. 

Today is T.'s birthday itself. This morning I got the kid out of the hotel room as soon as she got up so T. could sleep more. We read one of her new books in the hotel lobby until the breakfast nook opened. T. joined us about 20 minutes later. Then the kid and I went swimming while T. packed up the room. This time we didn't have the pool to ourselves; there were at least 6 other children there. The kid played with me for a bit and then appointed herself teacher to another girl.

After that, we got dried off and checked out. Then a little more shopping. Then a drive home. We arrived around 5:30 PM and had dinner reservations at St. Anselm's at 6:30, so we had to unpack and get cleaned up quickly. Dinner itself was good. The kid discovered Mad Libs today, but gets frustrated with spelling and similar things sometimes, so scenes were made, or almost.

In addition to that I'm glossing over several other 1,500-calorie meals. No one to blame but myself, and hopefully it'll get better as the weather improves enough to exercise regularly, but anyways, it really is time to cut my food intake a bit.
