Happy Mother's Day

I also got no exercise yesterday. Ugh.

I got brunch reservations at 11 at a nearby restaurant, so we had a lazy morning before that. Brunch was good. Then a little grocery shopping. Yes, we had just gone to Costco the day before, but there are lots of things we don't want to get 5 pounds of at a time. Afterwards I took the kid to the park for a little while and we threw a ball around and she climbed on the jungle gym. After that we managed to force her to help with dinner, practice her music, and study for some Scout stuff. 

The kid was grouchy yesterday. I'm not sure if she was behind on sleep, or gets that way when she can't see her friends, or both or what. She managed to be cheerful when it was time to celebrate Mother's Day, but when we were in the park she was hypersensitive to the least annoyance, and getting her to do her chores was a struggle.

Dinner was stuffed peppers. A new recipe, which the kid helped pick out and make, and maybe our favorite of this vegetarianism experiment the kid is going through. In fact, it wasn't just vegetarian but vegan, so we've got that in our arsenal for the next time we have to entertain company with that dietary restriction, although I'll probably add cheese just for flavor and extra protein the next time we make this for ourselves.
