A day off

Woo hoo.

Yesterday was unstructured. It went better than most unstructured days.

In the morning I went jogging. It wasn't sunny but it was still fairly warm. Breakfast was simpler than usual: eggs, bacon, and toast. We had to get the kid by 10:30 because the friends she stayed with overnight had plans. 

She spent most of the day at the park. There are fountains there for kids to play in. Normally the city would start turning them on Memorial Day weekend, but they did it early due to the heat. So we lathered her up with sunscreen, got the water gun out of the basement, and walked her over there. First, T. supervised her while I folded laundry and planned dinner. Then they took a break and came home for lunch and stuff and we switched off. 

Eventually she got tired of playing in the water, or tired of sharing toys with kids she doesn't like as much, and we came home. A friend came over to play while I prepped dinner. We FaceTimed with my parents briefly. Dinner was a salad and spaghetti with an esoteric sauce: garlic, olive oil, parsley, and chickpeas.
