Yesterday morning the kid got up around 6:30, earlier than usual. I took her to get breakfast right then rather than having her watching shows on her iPad while we were trying to sleep. We finally got T. up at around 8. We had time to kill; we wanted to do some shopping and got there right when shops opened at 10. We got new socks, shoes, winter boots, and a blouse for the kid; new jeans and a new sunglasses case for me; and some other clothes for T., I have to admit I didn't even notice around wrangling the kid.
After that, we went to the beach, for a trip to the kid's favorite rock store. She collects pretty stones. Lunch was at a taco shop. Then the beach itself for a little more time making sandcastles.
We eventually started driving home around 2 or 3 PM. T. did the driving Sunday so I did it yesterday. Despite getting enough sleep the night before "by the numbers", so to speak, I was drowsy for some reason, so we stopped early for gas and coffee. Other than that the trip home was uneventful.
Dinner was pork chops and a sort of grain salad. It wasn't anyone's favorite, but the kid ate the amount we required of her, and I had wanted to try something new when I bought the kit in the freezer aisle a few weeks ago, and it was easy.
