Renaissance Festival

Yesterday we had the usual weekend brunch. Later in the morning we went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival. (We left the house thinking we'd get there at around 11:45, but had a few navigation problems and got there right after noon...) In addition to the festival itself, it was a chance to catch up with Paul, who I hadn't seen since the kid's birthday. His youngest kid was sick so his wife couldn't make it, but his sister was visiting, so it was nice to catch up with her.

The festival and friends and kids were fun. Watched a few shows, waited in a long line for food, ate more than planned, dealt with a tantrum or near-tantrum over souvenirs, but on the whole they behaved okay... our fun aside, I hope Paul had some, because it sounds like he's really stressed.

We left around 5, almost an hour after Paul's family. Dinner at home was spaghetti and brussels sprouts. We got two or three loads of laundry done in between and after dinner.
