After yesterday's post, I went back upstairs and was pleasantly surprised to get about an hour's sleep. I felt much better when I got up for real.
Breakfast was simple, cereal and coffee. The morning was relaxing enough. The weather was beautiful. It was hard to hate global warming when it was around 58 degrees and sunny in January, especially after a lot of rain in California, and hearing about ice here. So I took the kid to the park for a few minutes in the morning.
We decided to take advantage of the weather by doing something touristy: taking the bus to the Lincoln Memorial. It took a while to get there but the kid did a pretty good job of entertaining herself, I guess. We got lots of nice pictures and had ice cream.
We took a different route home, Metro to Eastern Market for some shopping. Trader Joe's was closed for the holiday so we couldn't get everything we wanted, but we got the essentials. A pork and broccoli stir-fry for dinner.
