Relaxed yesterday afternoon. T. was kind enough to take the kid on a playdate outside the house (or we were lucky enough to get in touch with one) while I cleaned up and started dinner: ribs, in the oven. Took a while but was good.

The only problem was talk about money and the renovation. T. recently sent me some links to vaguely advisory articles about planning this sort of thing. I asked her directly and it turns out she's worried about the money. I'm not saying I'm not, but I think I am more willing to scale back our plans than she is. We really need to plan things in more detail...
