Work was slow yesterday for obvious reasons. Every other Friday is, and this one had the obvious problem of being the day before a holiday... I got a little done, including on that new urgent task, but nothing all that difficult or interesting.

We filled the time with packing and generally getting ready to go. There was a fair amount to do, what with Christmas presents to pack and stuff. We left T.'s parents house around 4 PM. (Just getting everyone together was a challenge.) First we checked into the hotel where T., the kid and I would spend the night, then the 5 of us went out to dinner one last time. It was at a seafood place T.'s parents are attached to, so this is a sort of tradition. I just had a cup of chowder, expecting that the kid would have a lot of leftovers, and I was right.

I didn't sleep well last night due in part to snoring.

We got up ridiculously early, at 4:30ish, so that we'd have plenty of time for our 7 AM flight. Breakfast at the airport: 3 bagels, one parfait. The flight took off about an hour late, but between the weather where we were (steady rain) and general news about air travel, I figured that wasn't too bad.

When we landed, we decided to take the Silver Line home, since it had only recently been extended to Dulles. If the weather had been nice, we might have taken it to NoMa and walked the rest of the way home, even with our heavy suitcases. But it was raining here too, so we took it to Eastern Market and got a Lyft the rest of the way.

We unpacked and had pizza for dinner. I went to the store to get milk but otherwise the house is empty of perishables. T. is putting the kid to bed now.
