Leisurely pancake brunch yesterday. We spent the morning getting ready for camping, interrupted slightly by a trip to the farmer's market and the kid insisting on going to the playground jungle gym. Weird.
Went to the Girl Scouts camping trip around 1. It was fine. There was less structure to it than we would have expected based on how Cub Scouts trips go but I'm not complaining. We provided dessert per a recipe T. looked up and otherwise just hung out.
Stuff we forgot: a long-sleeved top for the kid and pajamas for T. We also brought more than we needed. People specifically asked to borrow our sleeping bag and tent, and in general we thought this group was less prepared or experienced for camping than the friends we went with two weeks ago or the Scouts, so we brought everything we thought we might possibly be needed. It turns out we didn't. The campsite had cabins, they were in good condition, and the kids were happy to share. (Not a surprise but not something we wanted to plan on.) T. and I wound up having a cabin to ourselves, so our own tent didn't even get used.
This morning, a leisurely breakfast with the Girl Scouts. We went straight from their closing ceremony to a Scouts BSA event, the annual banquet. It was fun. We got home right around 4 and spent a lot of time unpacking and getting cleaned up.
